The challenge
Prepare the infrastructure to host the most effective technologies for replicating company data fundamental for Business Continuity
The objective of the project was to prepare an adequate physical and connectivity infrastructure in the Data Center of Toyota Kredit Bank gmbh (TKG) to be able to host the most effective technologies for the replication of data identified as fundamental for Business Continuity.
The infrastructure has been configured to host all the instances useful for:
- Zerto: for the replication of Virtual Machines from Production to Disaster Recovery
- NetApp: for replicating Cifs volumes containing shared data in the network share
- Mimix: for replicating Data Groups in AS400
These technologies were also used to achieve the RPO (Recovery Point Objective) and RTO (Recovery Time Objective) values required in company policies.
The architecture designed in this way also allows flexible and agile management of the Disaster Recovery Test activities that Toyota carries out at least once in the current Fiscal Year.
Goals
Achievement of the RTO and RPO values required by Toyota Group policies
Greater flexibility and speed in switching procedures from the Production site to the Disaster Recovery site
Optimization and saving of management and licensing costs thanks to the sharing of the DR infrastructure with the Country Spain
